It seeks to accomplish this through advanced learning, research, and innovation, primarily among journalism, communication and knowledge management professionals in Asia, for empowered and responsible leadership in the industry and society.

Who we are and what we do
The Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) is a leading and respected communication institution in the country and in the ASEAN region.
It provides graduate education in journalism and communication management.
It conducts professional enhancement training for journalists, communicators, and development managers.
It undertakes communication policy research and consulting activities on strategic communication planning, organizational communication audit, communication materials development, and other development communication projects.
In all the things we do, our passion is the belief that communication, information and knowledge are development resources that must be available to all people.

- Mixed mode of delivery of courses: face-to-face, print module, Internet, ICT-assisted.

- Experienced journalists, media managers and communication executives can earn a graduate degree through accreditation and equivalency. Here, a student is awarded equivalent credit for previous related work experience and outputs.

- AIJC has been involved in the planning, management, and monitoring and evaluation of relevant public information, education and communication (IEC) programs of different organizations for over two decades.
- AIJC has conducted continuing education courses in related fields for 25 years.
- AIJC has produced training handbooks or manuals in courses such as IEC Materials Development, Communication Planning, IEC Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Mobilization, and Advocacy, among others.
- Professors of the AIJC graduate school are well-known academics, communication specialists, veteran print and broadcast journalists, and information technology experts
- Resource persons of AIJC professional development programs combine theory and practice. Most have field experience in Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) work as planners, managers, and consultants. Their average work experience in actual IEC work is 10 years.

 About AIJC
The Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) was organized in 1980 as a graduate school of journalism and has evolved and grown since then. Aside from its offering of the Master in Communication Management (MCM) and Master in Journalism (MJ) programs, the Institute also provides professional training. Training courses cover specialized areas in journalism, communication, and knowledge management.
AIJC's Research and Development and Consultancy undertakes policy and action research, and planning, development and management of communication programs and projects. These services have been provided to government units, non-government organizations and international development agencies.
The ICT for Development (ICT4D) Unit of AIJC promotes the strategic use of ICT in various human development endeavors. Program areas include content development, capability-building, and research focused on the impact of ICT on the socio-cultural, economic and political dimensions of society. |
